Mission Statement
The mission of the Bellaire Public Library is to serve people of all ages by actively providing easily accessible information, materials, services and programs designed to meet the community's evolving educational, recreational, cultural and informational needs.
Library Card Policy
Anyone using the library independently of their legal guardian may receive a library card. If they are under the age of fourteen (14) they must have a parent or guardian sign their application card at the library. If the parent or guardian is not present at the time of registration, a form will be sent home with the child and must be returned with parental permission before a card will be issued.
Loan of Materials
A patron may check out five items. These may be kept for two weeks. One renewal is permitted with the exception of a reserved book, which may not be renewed. Additional renewals may be permitted at the discretion of the staff. A special due date allowing materials to be kept for a longer period of time may be granted to a patron upon request and at the discretion of the staff. All library materials will have the same loan policy. Current issue magazines in plastic jackets will not be allowed to circulate.
Patrons may reserve a book by requesting that their name be placed on the reserve list, which will be kept on the circulation computers.
Overdue Policy
Overdue fines shall be levied at 5 cents per day not to exceed the cost of replacement of the overdue item.
