Story Hour:

Join us every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. for Story Hour!  Parents and their young children 0-5 are invited to join us for a good story, craft, and snack time!

Movie Night:

The F.O.L. host Movie Night @ the Bellaire Library on Tuesday, March 27th at 6:30 p.m.  Start out at Short's Brewery @ 5 p.m. then head down to the library for: "Dr. Strangelove" starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott.  Rated PG 105 minutes.  Popcorn too!

Leland James and Christine Williams

Leland will read poetry and Christine will provide the musical interpretation.

Leland James is the author of six books and poetry and a book on poetry craft.  HIs poems have been published in the journals and magazines worldwide, including The Lyric, Rattle, the South Carolina Review, New Millennium Writings, HQ the Haiku Quarterly, London Magazine.  He was the winner of the UK's prestigious Aesthetica Creative Writing Award and has won or received honors in many other competitions.  Leland has been a featured poet in American Life in Poetry and was recently nominated for a Push Cart Prize.

Christine Williams, director of the Family String Studio, and co-founder of Traverse Community Music, received a B.A. in Music from Western Michigan University and a Master's degree from Grand Valley State University in gifted education.  She is a Suzuki trained instructor in both cello and violin.  Christine served as a mentor for the Traverse City Civic Chamber Strings and Summer Band Program.  She has performed as a member of the Battle Creek Symphony, and the Benzie Symphony, as well as numerous fiddle bands.

Movie Night

The Bellaire Public Library will host "Before the Flood" on April 24th at 6:30 p.m.

If you would like to have dinner before the movie, please meet at Short's Brewery at 5:00 p.m.

Movie run time is 96 minutes. Rated PG The Movie is free!! The popcorn is free!!

Author Visit

Foodies Rejoice!!
The Bellaire Public Library has been awarded a Michigan Notable Author visit this year!  Authors, Amy Emberling and Frank Carollo, will discuss their new book, "Zingerman's Bakehouse". The book includes 25 years of their best loved recipes from Zingerman's in Ann Arbor Michigan, a true foodie paradise!  The authors will visit the library on Friday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m. and will bring food!! 
Books will be available for purchase!  Do not miss this one!!

Author visit

The Friends of the Library will host author Ron Rodemacher on  June 11th at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Rodemacher is the author of four books about road trips to out of the way places in Michigan.  He will present a slide show entitled, "Nature Getaways".  Mr. Rodemacher will highlight many overlooked nature areas in Michigan, including trails and local attractions.  Books will be available for purchase.  Please come and begin planning summer trips with your family!


BIGG (Bellaire Interest in Genealogy Group) plan to meet once a month on the first Thursday @ 10:30 a.m. join us!

Books and Beans  Friday mornings from 10 - 11 am  Bellaire Public Library partnering with the Friends of the Library and Moka to provide coffee on Fridays! Please join us  for good MOKA coffee and good books! 


Divine Secrets of the Yarn Yarn Sisterhood!  First and third Tuesday at 4:00 pm  Bellaire Library Knitting Club!  Do you enjoy sharing time with other Knit Wits and hear a few good Yarns at the library? Join us! The Yarn Yarn Sisterhood knitting group now meets twice a month.

The library has four book clubs that meet here each month:

The Page Turners meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month @ 6pm
The Last Tuesday Bookclub (Church in the Hills) meets the last Tuesday of each month @ 1 pm
The Mindfulness Book club meets the last Wednesday @ 4pm
